# Soundportal — Terms of Service

## 1. Service Description

Soundportal is a **free, non-commercial music submission management tool**. We do not charge fees, store music files, or collect payment. Soundportal is provided "as-is" for **label owners, A&R managers, and music producers** to organize and review music submissions via SoundCloud links.

## 2. You Accept Full Responsibility for Content

**As a Label Owner / A&R Manager:**
- You are solely responsible for managing who has access to your portals
- You acknowledge that all tracks submitted are the submitter's own work
- You may not share, distribute, or use submitted tracks without artist permission
- You must remove content immediately if a DMCA/copyright claim is filed

**As a Producer / Submitter:**
- You guarantee you own all rights to the track you submit
- You confirm the track contains no copyrighted material without explicit permission
- You are liable if your submission infringes anyone's copyright
- Soundportal is not responsible if your submission causes legal issues

## 3. SoundCloud Links Only

- Soundportal does **not store or host music files**
- We only store **links to SoundCloud tracks** and metadata (artist name, email, contact)
- SoundCloud's Terms of Service apply to all tracks
- If your SoundCloud link is removed, it disappears from Soundportal
- You are responsible for maintaining your SoundCloud private links

## 4. No Liability for Data Breaches or Hacking

**Soundportal is NOT responsible for:**
- Unauthorized access to your account (hacking)
- Data theft or leak of unreleased tracks
- Loss of tracks or account data
- Cybersecurity incidents despite our security measures
- Revenue loss, lost opportunities, or lost royalties from a breach
- Access to private SoundCloud links through our platform

**What we do:**
- Use industry-standard encryption (Supabase)
- Require strong passwords and Google authentication
- Monitor for unauthorized access
- But we **cannot guarantee** 100% security

**Risk acknowledgment:** You understand that cloud-based services carry inherent security risks. By using Soundportal, you accept these risks.

## 5. No Warranty, No Uptime Guarantee

Soundportal is **beta software and completely free**. We offer:
- ❌ No uptime guarantee
- ❌ No technical support SLA
- ❌ No data backup guarantee
- ❌ No promise of future features

We may pause or shut down at any time without notice. **Back up your data yourself.**

## 6. Termination

We may terminate your account immediately if you:
- Submit copyrighted material that isn't yours
- Attempt to hack or abuse the platform
- Violate these Terms of Service
- Use Soundportal for commercial purposes (selling data, mass scraping)

You may delete your account anytime, but we may retain anonymized data for legal compliance.

## 7. Privacy & Data

- We collect: email, name, username, portal info, track metadata
- We do **not** sell your data
- We store data on Supabase servers (Ireland/EU)
- GDPR compliant: you can request export/deletion via email
- Private portals are only visible to users you grant access

## 8. No Commercial Use

This is a **free beta tool**. You may not:
- Charge for access to Soundportal
- Resell or redistribute Soundportal
- Use it to build a competing product
- Scrape or mass-export data

## 9. Limitation of Liability

**Soundportal is provided "as-is."** To the fullest extent permitted by law:

- We are NOT liable for data loss, hacking, or leaked tracks
- We are NOT liable for lost revenue or lost opportunities
- We are NOT liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability is **$0 (zero)** since this is a free service

## 10. Copyright Infringement

**If you believe your copyright has been infringed:**
1. Email us with proof of ownership
2. We will remove the content within 48 hours
3. We will investigate and may terminate the uploader's account

**False DMCA claims:** If you falsely claim copyright, you may be liable for damages.

## 11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms anytime. Continued use = acceptance of new terms.
